As we all know growing up, Ireland is full of Museums and Gallerys we’d be dragged to on school trips, usually we tag along just for the gift shop delights at the end (bendy ruler anyone?) but there’s more out there definitely worth a visit.
National Leprechaun Museum – Dublin
The Leprechaun Museum in Dublin is a great spot for something a little different. Their Night Time tours for adult’s only are a must see, with character storytellers telling tales dealt with darker subjects in Irish folklore.
A quote from themselves, “They are tales that are so dark and twisted that there is no way we could ever talk about them during our regular day time tours.” Sounds good to us…
Irish Rock n’ Roll Museum Experience – Dublin
Well this wasn’t one of the choices in school years… The Irish Rock N’ Roll museum is a must for any music fan, but also if you’re a group of friends up for a laugh!
Their VIP tour is split in to 6 sections, bringing out the inner rock star in you. You start in “Rehearsals” where you get dressed up in authentic outfits and get the chance to play instruments in the famous Temple Lane Rehearsal Studios before heading to the Cinema room. Here, you get to watch a movie showcasing the history of Irish Rock n’ Roll.
Other areas include “Backstage” with a wall of fame of images from bands in the same room, “Onstage” where you get to grace the stage and get some photos, “Studio” where you get to see where tracks from Thin Lizzy, Rihanna & The Script have been made in the past, and “DEMO” which allows you to record a version of your favourite track!
Sounds good right?!
The National Wax Museum – Dublin
This ones a great one for the family. The National Wax Museum in Dublin, plays host to an array of different themed rooms with wax models that look realistic, from “Chambers of horror” to “Great Irish writers”.
With each room being a different theme it doesn’t get boring, with loads of photo opportunities it’s great for kids. There’s even a “Wax Factor” room with instruments where you can record a music video using the green screen behind. These are available to buy in the gift shop too!
